In 2009, a group of young professionals founded s.e.e.d., a boutique law firm specializing in advising individuals involved in venture capital, iimpact investing, and the entrepreneurial-ecosystem in Costa Rica with a subsequent expansion Central America. Today, as iitos, the firm aims to seize new, more ambitious opportunities by leveraging talent, technology, and adaptability to enhance their clients’ transformative potential.

Federico (Fred) Golcher is a guide and inspiration for iitos and his team. He is a business leader with an extensive track record. In addition to founding and developing several businesses, he has had a 40-year career in leadership positions in two of the four Big 4. He has been involved in regulated public companies and private equity. Since 1995, Fred has been a member of YPO. He has been president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica and has led several NGOs. He is a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association. Besides his wife and two children, he is also the grandfather of two children. His hobbies include world travel, gastronomy, health and wellness.
CloseFreddy is a great mentor and advisor to the iitos team. He is a prominent lawyer with over 40 years of experience in major law firms. In recent years, he has provided legal advice to early stage startups and has structured private equity investment models, as well as participated and invested in seed rounds. Freddy is the oldest millennial you will ever see. He has a law degree from the University of Costa Rica, an LLM from Harvard University and sits on the board of directors of several private organizations. Freddy is married, has two children and three grandchildren, and lives in San Jose, Costa Rica, where he enjoys road and mountain biking.
CloseJosé founded s.e.e.d in 2009, which then became seed by EY in 2018 and now leads iitos. He is known to be an ecosystem builder in the region for his work in impact investing and venture capital since the beginning of his professional career. José holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and an MBA from the University of Oxford-Saïd Business School where he held the Skoll Scholarship. José enjoys spending time with his family and friends in his spare time and is a great movie or series critic.
CloseConrad (Rillas or “C”) is the leader of our transactional team. He is recognized within the team for his expertise in fund formation and fund raising, mergers and acquisitions and general investment processes. Conrad is a calm leader who will never be seen to panic. He holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica, a diploma in notarial law from La Salle University and a diploma in business intelligence from Aden Business School. He enjoys an active lifestyle and loves to snack during his day at the office.
CloseLuisi is part of our transactional team and was the first hire after seed’s integration to EY. She is versatile and has extensive experience dealing with key players in the venture capital and impact investing ecosystem in Latin America. Luisi is a seasoned professional who knows the region’s business landscape and can quickly interpret and adapt to different scenarios. In addition, her experience with key players in the industry has helped her build valuable relationships and a strong network in the field. She holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica and an LLM from the University of Texas. She has a large family and enjoys spending her free time with them, and is also an NFL fan!
ClosePedro is part of our transactional team and actively participates in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and structuring of projects of different nature, with a special focus on venture capital, private equity and sustainable real estate projects. Pedro’s mission is to make clients’ lives easier in a complex legal environment. He loves to solve problems in an ingenious way considering both legal and business perspectives. His mission and creative orientation have led him to lead complex corporate, private equity and real estate transactions. He studied at the Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho where he obtained his law degree. Pedro has a passion for soccer and tennis. In his spare time, he loves to read about business, history, politics and productivity.
CloseNati is a lawyer specializing in corporate and commercial law, with extensive experience in contract negotiation, e-commerce, corporate governance, and compliance. She advises startups, as well as family and regional businesses on corporate structuring, strategic information protection, investor relations, and regulatory compliance. Her practice also includes consumer protection and technology regulation, with a focus on mitigating legal risks and designing contractual strategies that promote business growth. She has collaborated on projects with governments, international accelerators, and multilateral organizations, contributing her expertise in identifying risks and opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as in developing action plans and governance models. She holds a law degree from the University of Costa Rica. Nati is very close to her family and enjoys watching Formula One and good movies with them in her free time.
ClosePablo is part of the transactional team where he supports the team in corporate, real estate and notarial matters, and actively participates in due diligence processes. His independence and proactivity have led him to lead important transactions, high value-added tasks and to make professional decisions very early in his career. His assertive personality makes him very critical, meticulous and oriented to create an excellent client experience. Pablo currently holds a law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho. Pablo enjoys constantly learning about history, science, popular culture and his passion since he was a kid, cars. He also has the best sense of humor!
CloseLau is part of the multidisciplinary team where she assists clients particularly in corporate compliance, tax structuring, contract law and due diligence processes. She is organized, communicative and proactive, characteristics that have allowed her to develop trusting relationships with clients and her team. She is also in charge of researching and structuring important projects. Laura is currently pursuing a law degree with emphasis in tax law at the University of Costa Rica and has more than 5 years of experience as a paralegal in important law firms. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places and reading novels, and Lau speaks five languages!
CloseMariajo is part of our transactional team and actively participates in due diligence, capital raising and implementation processes. In addition, throughout her career she has acquired a deep knowledge in processes involving partnerships and foundations. Mariajo is resilient and never takes “no” for an answer. She is perseverant and an excellent problem solver, which is why clients love her. She stays on top of clients’ day-to-day issues and excels especially in dealing with public institutions. She studied at the Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho, where she obtained her law degree. María José has a keen interest in connecting with people and spending time with her firstborn nephew.
CloseConnie co-founded and leads Keidos since 2021, a firm that provides legal consultancy for sustainable development in Latin America to multiple market actors. She is known for being a builder of the impact ecosystem in the region and has worked as a corporate lawyer since the beginning of her career. She specializes in providing impact solutions in sustainability issues such as impact investing, pay-for-performance contracts, ESG corporate governance, sustainable value chains, and business and human rights. She is a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires and has a master’s degree in business law from the Universidad Austral. In her free time, Connie loves to be with her children, family, and friends. She also enjoys playing hockey.
CloseAgostina co-founded Keidos Impacto Legal, a firm that provides consulting for sustainable development in Latin America to multiple market players, works for the construction of the impact market in the region and the development of regulatory frameworks to promote the impact economy. She provides impact solutions on sustainability issues such as impact investments, pay-for-performance contracts, ESG corporate governance, sustainable value chains and business and human rights.Agostina is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina, and has postgraduate degrees in Strategic Management for Sustainable Development and Business and Human Rights.She enjoys traveling as well as sharing the little things in life with family and friends.
ClosePablo is focused on Finance and Strategy. Having had the unique opportunity of wearing investor and operator hats, he brings over a decade of experience in M&A, Capital Raising and Financial Strategy to the table. With experience across multiple industries, he is passionate about high growth opportunities in traditional industries like real estate, hospitality, retail and agriculture among others. He holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics, both from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a sports enthusiast and a food nerd.
CloseFiore has over 20 years providing advice to national and international clients on negotiation and conciliation processes to settle disputes before going to judicial or arbitration proceedings. Her experience is concentrated in the resolution of disputes in commercial, civil, and labor law as well as liability matters. She also has experience advising on liability risk analysis. She studied law at Universidad Libre de Derecho where she got her JD degree. She also holds a Postgraduate in Damages from Universidad de Salamanca, Spain and another one in Commercial Law from Universidad de Costa Rica and she is a certified Mediator. Fiore has found a new passion for baking so in her free time you´ll find her baking for her family and friends.
CloseAndrew Bochner is the managing partner of Bochner PLLC and a highly skilled attorney with over 10 years of global experience in intellectual property, corporate affairs, and litigation. Andrew provides advice to clients on transactions and litigation in the United States and worldwide. The firm has successfully represented clients in innovative industries such as consumer products, electronics, e-commerce, healthcare, artificial intelligence, machine learning, electric motors, and medical devices, among others. Andrew holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Yeshiva University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
ClosePedro is an attorney and holds an L.L.M. in US International Tax from the University of Florida, USA, and is currently a candidate for the Chief Product Officer Executive Program at the Massachusetts Technology Institute in Boston. Pedro has more than 20 years of experience in international tax consulting. His professional career includes working for several years in one of the big four, founding the Mexico City based tax advisory firm Paradygm Firm and the technology company Aquila World Software. In recent years he has developed and launched software products for the legal and tax industry. Pedro is an amateur mountain biker, kite surfer and Chi Kung practitioner.
CloseRicardo Aramburo Williams is the International Tax Principal and Global Markets Leader at Mowery & Schoenfeld in Miami, Florida. With over 20 years of experience, he advises companies and individuals on cross-border operations, U.S. market entry, global expansion, and international tax structuring. He serves as Chair of the International Advisory Council of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, guiding the region’s foreign investment and international strategy. Ricardo is also Chair for Latin America of GGI Global Alliance’s International Taxation Practice Group and a member of the Executive Committee of the U.S.–Mexico Chamber of Commerce Inter-American Chapter. Featured in Thomson Reuters and Forbes, he lectures for professional and academic institutions and contributes to Northwestern University’s Global Ambassadors Program. He holds an MBA from Kellogg, an LL.M. in Taxation from Northwestern, and degrees in Law and Accounting from Mexican universities.
CloseAle is in charge of leading our legal practice in Mexico. Her practice focuses on providing legal advice to national and international companies in the negotiation of commercial transactions, corporate reorganizations, as well as the organization, operation, and business activities. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Tax Law at the same university. Ale has over 11 years of experience in the field, during which she has worked in leading international firms. Ale is a mother of two children and enjoys exercising, traveling, and is a fan of gastronomy.
CloseAlvaro founded LegalPlus in 2015, leads the firm, and primarily focuses on Venture Capital and Aviation transactions. He oversees wealth structuring and directs the real estate development practice. Alvaro graduated as a Lawyer and Notary from Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM) and obtained an LL.M in International Economic Law from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is currently a professor at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, teaching courses on Law, Innovation, Technology, and other related subjects. In his free time, Alvaro enjoys mountain biking, aviation, and grilling.
CloseMauricio joined LegalPlus as a Partner in 2019, focusing primarily on Venture Capital and Startups. His international experience and broad range of expertise in technology enables him to provide comprehensive advice to clients within his practice. He resides in the United States, where he manages the operations of a LegalTech company and works remotely for LegalPlus. Mauricio graduated as a Lawyer and Notary from Universidad Francisco Marroquin and obtained an LL.M in American (US Law) Jurisprudence from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center and serves as a consultant for Kleros (Bs.As, Argentina) and Tech (Denver, Colorado). In his free time, Mauricio enjoys participating in Iron Man competitions, running, and swimming.
CloseRonald has 16+ years advising Central American companies in M&A and strategy consulting. He co-founded Asesores Mesoamericanos, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, business valuation, and strategic consulting. Previously, he was a partner at Deloitte for Central America and the Dominican Republic and manager at Mesoamerica. Ronald has worked on 200+ projects in areas like M&A, growth strategies, due diligence, and business plans across industries such as agribusiness, insurance, energy, services, retail, and real estate. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and an MBA (with honors) from INCAE Business School. Ronald is a certified negotiator and mediator (Harvard Law School) and holds a private equity certification (London Business School). He’s a tennis enthusiast and practices moving meditation.
CloseMarianella began her professional development in the financial sector in 1994, working for 15 years at Francofin (CR) S.A., a subsidiary of Banco Nacional de Paris (BNP) in Costa Rica. In 2009, she founded her own financial consulting office, M&V Consultores, focused on providing personalized financial advice and solutions to select clients. Marianella studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance at the University of Costa Rica and completed her studies in International Finance at Oklahoma State University. In her free time, Marianella enjoys spending time with her family, reading, going to the movies, and exploring new places. She also dedicates part of her free time to helping at her community church.
CloseJuan José founded ECIF CONSULTORES in 2017, assisting clients in making their dreams come true in an efficient and timely manner through good practices of internal control, administration, and accounting. Juan José is a graduate of the University of Costa Rica in the field of Public Accounting and receives continuous training provided by CCPCR / CCPA. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading a book, and never misses the football matches of his favorite team.
ClosePablo is a founding partner of Rabelly Mendoza Asociados. Before that, he worked as an Associate Partner of the corporate law practice of EY in Colombia. He was a Partner at Gómez Pinzón Abogados for the Corporate and M&A practice group, being part of the said firm for approximately 15 years. He is known as an expert in corporate, contracts, corporate governance, and transactional matters, including relevant legal aspects of the venture capital ecosystem in the region. Pablo is a lawyer from the Universidad del Rosario with a postgraduate degree in Financial Law from the Universidad de Los Andes. Pablo is also a chef trained in the beautiful city of Vancouver-Canada, being part of a catering business in Colombia.
CloseJuanjo +25 years of professional experience advising Peruvian and international companies, banks, multilateral institutions, as well as government entities, in various types of transactions (M&A, Venture Capital, Project Finance, PPPs, etc.) in Peru and other Latin American countries. Additionally, he is an angel investor in various startups in Latin America and a member of the Surveillance Committee of Angel Ventures Peru. Juanjo is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and holds an LLM in Corporate Finance from The London School Of Economic and Political Science (LSE). The role that Juanjo enjoys the most is being a father to his three young children (and a fourth one on the way!). In his free time, Juanjo is a passionate consumer of theater, movies, and series from different countries (the more diverse, the better).

He became the youngest professional to be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the American-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce. He has extensive experience in managing both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. He is recognized as an expert in corporate sustainability, ESG, and impact management. José holds a degree in Law from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and an MBA from EAE School of Management and Pace University. José is an enthusiast of ocean sports. Living part-time near the sea, he enjoys activities such as kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and scuba diving.
CloseNats has extensive experience in consolidating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies and economic development, both from the public and private sectors, as well as NGOs. She utilizes social innovation tools to facilitate collaboration with different groups of stakeholders. She holds a degree in Political Science from ICESI University (Colombia) and a double Master’s degree from the University of South Florida (USA) in Political Science and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Nats is passionate about the culture of the Colombian Pacific and, in her free time, enjoys spending time with her family and friends, road trips, and reading historical novels.

She has worked 11 years in the Peruvian banking supervisor and nearly 6 years in important local and international law firms. She holds a Master in Law from The London School of Economics (LSE), with a specialization in Banking and Financial Law. She has taken refresher courses in financial regulation at LSE, as well as in new technologies at the Masachuttes Technological Institute (MIT).From Vodanovic, Ljubica advises banks, financial institutions and FinTech companies, local and international, and collaborates with various authorities for the implementation of regulatory improvements and best practices in the financial industry.
CloseColin is a seasoned professional and consultant with over 20 years of experience in sustainability and ESG, supporting companies and international organizations in process improvement, change management, and project administration. He has worked with multinational corporations such as Coca Cola Enterprises, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Xerox Corporation, as well as entities like UNCTAD, GIZ, and USAID. He is the founder of TGB Consulting and Colin Banning Consulting and has been an associate consultant for SGS Global. He holds certifications in ISO 45001 auditing, circular economy, and sustainability from the University of Cambridge, and in entrepreneurship from MIT. His career includes roles as Deputy Country Director at Swisscontact Guatemala, President of CB Inversiones, and General Director of TGB Consulting. His work emphasizes sustainability and business development projects in Central America.Colin is an amateur orchid lover and has participated in a leadership program at MIT.
CloseAna has served in positions such as office clerk in 2014 at INS Services, in 2018 she joined EY as a receptionist and in accounts receivable. She is currently part of iitos as an administrative assistant, always focused on customer service. Ana is currently studying Business Administration at the Universidad Autónoma Monterrey (UNAM). Ana loves her pets, animated movies, spending time with her siblings and food.
CloseAndre is a key member of the notary team, where his management is fundamental to the department’s operational efficiency. He possesses a solid track record in the legal-notary field and complementary training that enables him to implement exhaustive controls, ensuring strict compliance with the obligations of the notarial function. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Costa Rica and is distinguished by his high commitment and proactivity. Guided by human quality and a sense of social contribution, Andre complements his professional career with active participation in volunteer work and an energetic lifestyle.
ClosePau is a member of the legal team at Iitos, where she provides support on corporate law matters, as well as in the preparation of documents and essential procedures for the team’s operations. With a proactive attitude and a strong passion for learning, she approaches each challenge with dedication and a focus on her professional development.
Currently pursuing a Law degree at the University of Costa Rica, Pau combines her academic training with practical experience in the legal field. She also has a strong interest in social impact work, actively participating in volunteer projects that allow her to contribute to the community. CloseAnnie currently works in the Strategy and Operations area, with the responsibility of ensuring the proper internal functioning of the office, through the management of processes, implementation of procedures and administrative coordination. She stands out for her proactivity, commitment and sense of responsibility, consolidating a career based on job stability and continuous improvement. Annie has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad Fidélitas. She has extensive experience in various sectors, which allows her to have the knowledge and skills to develop her role within iitos. In her free time, she enjoys contact with nature and outdoor walks.
CloseRoxana is an attorney specializing in Intellectual Property, with extensive experience in the protection, management, and enforcement of trademarks, patents, industrial designs, trade secrets, and copyrights. She has led this practice at firms such as Pacheco Coto and EY Law in Costa Rica and Central America, advising on comprehensive strategies and M&A transactions. Her expertise also includes unfair competition and regulatory matters. Roxana holds a Law Degree from Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Competition Law from Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom).
CloseBryam is part of iitos’ Strategy and Operations Team. He initially joined the company providing professional services and recently joined the S&O team.
With experience in accounting and administrative areas, Bryam combines a solid technical foundation with a practical, results-oriented approach. His background in accounting has allowed him to develop a meticulous and analytical approach, qualities he applies to every project he participates in.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and mountain biking, as well as travel, photography, and art, interests that fuel his curiosity and creativity.
Daguer Alberto Hernández Vásquez is a Costa Rican attorney and notary public with more than fifteen years of experience in legal, migration, and administrative management. He served as Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Migration and Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, where he led integration policies and cooperation initiatives with international organizations such as UNHCR, IOM, and UNICEF. He holds a specialization in Notarial Law and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law at the University for Peace (UPEACE). He now works as a private attorney, notary public, and consultant on migration, administrative, and human rights matters, with a humanistic approach and a focus on social inclusion.
CloseMauricio is part of the legal team at iitos and is currently pursuing a Law degree at the University of Costa Rica. He joined the team with the goal of supporting the execution of legal processes and the preparation of documents, standing out for his proactivity and his ability to adapt to dynamic and technology-driven work environments.
On a personal level, Mauricio is passionate about fitness and physical well-being, dedicating his free time to strength training with the same discipline he applies to his professional career. He defines himself as someone willing to take on new challenges that drive his continuous growth.
